Birthday Celebration Policy
Student Birthday Celebration Snack Policy
Effective Date: 7/31/2025
At Fairview Elementary, we are committed to fostering a safe and healthy environment for all students. Due to a recent rise in health-related concerns, including allergies and other medical conditions, we will no longer allow outside snacks, treats, or food items to be brought in by parents or guardians for birthday celebrations. This decision was made to prioritize student health and safety, as well as to ensure consistency and equity across all classrooms.
Alternative Birthday Celebration Option:
Parents who would still like to acknowledge their child’s birthday at school may donate money to the school, which will go toward a class-wide ice cream treat. This option allows students to enjoy a special celebration while ensuring all health guidelines and dietary restrictions are properly followed.
To participate:
-
Donations can be made via cash or check, or electronic school payment system.
-
Please notify the homeroom teacher at least three school days in advance if you plan to contribute.
-
Ice cream options will be pre-approved and managed by school staff to ensure safety and compliance with dietary needs. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to maintain a healthy learning environment for all our students.
