Engineer Design Process

1. Ask/Identify/Define – ask questions to identify a problem, describe the situation/challenge, define the problem, etc.

2. Brainstorm/Imagine/Research/Generate Solutions - gather information, create as many solutions as you can, dream big!

3. Select a solution/Plan/Design - select a solution, combine ideas, make a blueprint/materials list.

4. Build (a Prototype) - build a prototype of your solution from your plan.

5. Test/Evaluate - test your solution. Observe what is working and what may need improvement to make it even better.

6. Improve/Redesign - improve your design based on the data from your test. Continue to test and redesign until a solution is ready to be shared.
